Part of what this earns doesn’t stay here.
A share of every Brotherhood membership funds fibrolamellar carcinoma research. This page exists so that commitment is written down somewhere public, where you can hold me to it.
Why this one.
In May 2026 our son Owen was diagnosed with Stage IV fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma. We are still in the middle of that fight.
Fibrolamellar is a rare liver cancer that turns up mostly in adolescents and young adults with otherwise healthy livers. Rare is the operative word. It does not attract the research money that common cancers do, which means the families who get this diagnosis are relying on a much smaller effort to find them answers.
I can’t do much about that directly. I can make sure that if this company ever makes money, some of it lands where it might matter to the next family.
The commitment, in plain terms.
What gets given
A fixed share of gross revenue from every Brotherhood membership — not profit, not what’s left over after expenses. Gross. The exact percentage will be set and published on this page before the first membership is sold, and it will not quietly go down later.
Where it goes
To the Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation, which funds research into this specific disease. Dialed Iron takes no cut and receives nothing back. If the money is ever routed anywhere else, that change gets announced here first, with the reason.
How you’ll know
Once a year, on this page: memberships sold, revenue, the amount given, and the date it was sent. If the number is embarrassing, it still gets published. A pledge you only report on in a good year isn’t a pledge.
What this is not
Dialed Iron is a business, not a charity, and joining The Brotherhood is not a tax-deductible donation. Don’t buy a membership as a way to give — if that’s what you want to do, give to the foundation directly and skip me entirely. It’ll go further.
The first report isn’t written yet.
The Brotherhood hasn’t opened, so nothing has been sold and nothing has been given. When that changes, the first set of numbers appears right here, and every year after that. Until then this page is a promise with my name on it and nothing else, which is the honest state of it.
